Wasps Pest Control

Wasps generally make their nests from their saliva and chewed wood pulp. The nests are built in the ground, tree stumps, wall cavities, retaining walls and roof voids. For locating a nest, watch the flight path of returning wasps. You can do this easily in summer months as number of wasps increase during this time of the year. As summer progresses the nest grows in size. A nest may become the size of a football or even bigger in a few cases.

Methods for treatment

 Spraying and Dusting

BEFORE TREATMENT

Remove or seal all food items and remove or cover utensils

Cover all plastics (stereos, computers, etc) and all leather goods (sofas, chairs, etc).

All people, pets, plants, etc MUST BE REMOVED prior to treatment. Aquariums may be covered with a double layer of impermeable film (eg Gladwrap™) and the aeration pump switched off if removal presents a problem. We CANNOT accept any responsibility for the fish or marine life in this situation.

Naked lights, gas pilot lights, etc must be switched off.

The area must be sealed, all doors and windows closed, fans and air-conditioning units turned off.

You must advise all personnel of the treatment and advise that people with asthma or any chemical concerns must remain out of the premises for at least 24 hours. MSDS sheets are available for all upon request.

Open all cupboards. Notify the Fire Brigade if fire detection or smoke detector systems exist.

THE PREMISES or TREATED STRUCTURES MUST BE VACATED FOR A MINIMUM OF FOUR (4) HOURS.

AFTER TREATMENT

THE PREMISES MUST BE THOROUGHLY VENTILATED PRIOR TO RE-ENTRY OF THE OCCUPANTS OR REUSE OF THE STRUCTURE.

All doors, windows, ventilators, should be opened and the area thoroughly ventilated for a minimum period of thirty (30) minutes. Air-conditioners MUST be switched on in ‘open vent mode’, and left in this mode for the remainder of the day, so they are bringing in fresh, outside air. Large Structures such as a Grain Silo will require considerably longer ventilation and may require forced air ventilation e.g. With powered fans.
